Maker Ed Presents: The Maker Educator Convening

April 17, 2015
By Educator Innovator

Are you an experienced maker educator? Want to connect with other progressive colleagues committed to taking a collective step toward making change in education?

Join Maker Ed for the first Maker Educator Convening in San Francisco, CA on May 13, 2015.

The goals of the event are to:

  • Convene maker educators who have successful maker education programs and makerspaces, and want to share, scale and spread their work
  • Showcase best practices of leaders in the field
  • Tackle challenges faced by established makerspaces and maker education programs
  • Establish a nationwide network of maker educators and goals for future convenings

The day will consist of speakers from around the country who will share best practices and relevant topics associated with sustainability, equity, and assessment, as well as discussion-based, break-out sessions for participants to dive deep into a topic of interest.

The Maker Educator Convening will be held in conjunction with Maker Con at the Palace of Fine Arts. All attendees of the convening will be invited to the closing keynote and reception at Maker Con that day. Participants can also take advantage of the Maker Con showcase at any time throughout the day.

In addition, attendees will receive a free ticket to FRIDAY@MakerFaire, a special, early access day for Maker Faire Bay Area.
