In this hangout, participants discussed the educational value of encouraging invention and tinkering. Topics ranged from kits for young children to citizen science for older learners as participants described how the value of tinkering is at the core of an emerging pedagogy of “inventing to learn.” This hangout was hosted by Howard Rheingold and was the first in a 4-part series called “Maker-Ed: Tinkering, Inventing, Learning,” co-streamed at connectedlearning.tv.
