{"id":13838,"date":"2020-06-01T14:47:00","date_gmt":"2020-06-01T21:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/educatorinnovator.org\/?p=13838"},"modified":"2020-07-13T07:30:57","modified_gmt":"2020-07-13T14:30:57","slug":"beyond-storytime-a-colab-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/educatorinnovator.org\/beyond-storytime-a-colab-series\/","title":{"rendered":"Beyond Storytime: A Colab Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What is possible when children\u2019s book authors, illustrators, and elementary educators collaborate together?<\/p>\n<p>In April 2020, with schools closed for shelter-in-place, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nwp.org\/who-we-are\/our-people\/writers-council\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NWP Writers Council members<\/a>, teachers, and children\u2019s book authors and illustrators came together to rethink the stand-alone storytime and the traditional \u201cauthor visit.\u201d During this initial conversation, ideas surfaced around the ways that teachers and authors\/illustrators might collaborate given the historic moment of a global pandemic.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dZKKUp4f-5Q\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>Duration: 37:13, <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1FbABhxFilz1N8HzP-mIlI4UJ0gQuLs38ZGl47EHE_0Q\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accompanying slideshow<\/a> includes details about the teachers, authors, and illustrators.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To further develop these ideas, Writing Project teachers and interested authors and illustrators have launched a series of webinars this summer called <a href=\"https:\/\/educatorinnovator.org\/campaigns\/beyond-storytime-a-colab-series\/\"><em>Beyond Storytime: A Colab Series<\/em><\/a>.
